Publi service broadcasting trust!

I found an amazing article in Frontline about the Public Services broadcasting trust headed by some benevolent public spirited and responsible media Moguls of course, past their prime. Nevertheless, it’s an amazing concept and has the potential to destabilize the existing media monopoly.

Themes and issues that the main stream media is least interested in will get picked up. Technicians, failed artists and those with dreams in their eyes but little backing and money now have a wonderful platform to learn, unleash and showcase their creative talents to the world. The opportunities are unlimited. It can rekindle the now commercial coloured artistic fervor, awaken creativity, give us all a break from monotonous love stories and best of all provide employment and earnings to those hopeless lives lurking as background artists. It might as well provide a safety net to those with amazing talents but minimal support networks.

I am so happy that the initiative is already bearing fruit. A lot of these films made by unheard of names are succeeding in international film and art festivals knocking mighty production houses off their feet. Go PSBT go!
