Vodooo! Here is another topic for the press to take the moral high ground, stone the government and raise a hue and cry over corrupt politicians and babus.
WTF was my response. The fourth estate itself reeks of moral ineptitude and baseness. Remember the paid news scandal that incriminated many of the powerful media houses ? Has it not demonstrated beyond doubt where they stand on the moral geography? Still, they have the nerve to claim the moral high ground and point fingers.
Over that is the gross misrepresentation of facts and irresponsible sensationalism created by them. Just follow Messers Rajdeep, Arnab ..... Misses Bharka, Sagarika, .... on twitter and you will understand how ill informed they are about the whole issue. While they heaped a fraud of 35000 Cr on Mr. Kalmadi, the fact is that, he hardly has RS1000 cr money under his jurisdiction. The rest of the money was earmarked for the Delhi metro, Delhi international airport, new power plants and urban beautification which were long term investments that Delhi so desperately needed for a long time. They have not the balls and interest to go after the likes of mining and defence lobbyists or their celebrity friends. But they have tremendous energy and enthu to chase the 'Les miserables' like Kalmadi.
The idea is not to condone small corruption. But it is to report facts and truth, anlayse and then pass a verdict. But Alas! the 24X7 news has no time to do all this. They just have to pass the verdict directly. However half baked be it. Shame on you fourth estate!
