In essence he is cribbing that the backward classes are unsuccessful in being corrupt. Wow! Give them coaching classes’ man! Or use the standard election formula we always triumphantly used so far; reservation. Reserve some corruption exclusively for backward classes. Make Coal mining is exclusively SC domain, Petrochemicals to Muslims and other natural resources to ST’s.
Guess who wrote this article, a Rajya Sabha MP. In essence he says only the backward classes get caught when there indulge in corrupt practices. Oh god! The very fact that the article got printed in one of the prime national newspaper tells us that there is no dearth of audience for such nonsense. God save us.
To put things in perspective, the article is not without merit. Lot of bada babus who are corrupt never get caught may be because they are so very good at the art or may be because they are not so idiotic as to deal in hard cash. Whatever the reason, we seldom see corrupt from forward castes getting caught.
As a matter of principle, we need to condemn all corruption, nepotism, exploitation and double talk. There are no two ways about it. Whoever in whatever form be it Kiran Bedi travelling economy class and pocketing the first class fare or Mr. Janadhan Reddy minting money out of the mining scam in Bellary. All are guilty in the court of law. But mind you, only when they get caught. Till then it happy go lucky!
