Ajmal Kasab Hanged to Death

What is wrong with us? Why do we celebrate/congratulate someone's death? One man was horribly hanged till the rope squeezed the living lights out of him, till his entire being agonizingly gave up resulting in the inevitable, and we want to celebrate?

Agreed he was the perpetrator of 26/11 attacks. Agreed he killed innocent victims in cold blooded fashion and maybe he even enjoyed doing it. But what makes us any different from him? Are we not blood thirsty like him? Longing for the kill, celebrating his death and saying things like "He should have been publicly hanged" Or "At last we got justice"? Aren't they signs of barbarism and cruelty? Why and how can we equate Vendetta to Justice?

Fine, he was hanged for whatever he did. Let's not demean dignity of human life. He is a misguided spirit who did some gruesome acts. I am sure he saw enough hatred and abhorrence, maybe he deserves some pity. If not when alive, at least in death. RIP Ajmal Kasab!
